Am wondering why I never got to send this to my friends. Anyway, the article is a good read. Maybe the guys can pick up a thing or two….or the perennial bff can confirm a few 11 “Don’t-Tell-the-Wife” Secrets All Men Keep Feature from “Redbook” Magazine By Ty Wenger   …in the interest of uniting the sexes, we’ve scoured the country for guys willing to share the private truths they wouldn’t normally confess. Some are a bit crass. Some you’ve always suspected. Some are surprisingly sweet. (Guys don’t like to reveal the mushy stuff, either.) But read on, and you may discover that the truth about men isn’t all that ugly. Secret #1: Yes, we fall in lust 10 times a day — but it doesn’t mean we want to leave you Secret #2: We actually do play golf to get away from you Secret #3: We’re unnerved by the notion of commitment, even after we’ve made one to you Secret #4: Earning money makes us feel important Secret #5: Though we often protest, we actually enjoy fixing things around the house Secret #6: We like it when you mother us, but we’re terrified that you’ll become your mother Secret #7: Every year we love you more Secret #8: We don’t really understand what you’re talking about Secret #9: We are terrified when you drive Secret #10: We’ll always wish we were 25 again Granted, when I was 25 I was working 16-hour days and eating shrimp-flavored Ramen noodles six times a week. But as much as we love being with you now, we will always look back fondly on the malnourished freedom of our misguided youth. “Springsteen concerts, the ‘91 Mets, the Clinton presidency — most guys reminisce about the days when life was good, easy and free of responsibility,” says Rob Aronson, 41, of Livingston, New Jersey, who’s been married for 11 years. “At 25 you can get away with things you just can’t get away with at 40.”   While it doesn’t mean we’re leaving you to join a rock band, it does explain why we occasionally come home from Pep Boys with a leather steering-wheel cover and a Born to Run CD. Secret #11: Give us an inch and we’ll give you a lifetime I was on a trip to Mexico, standing on a beach, waxing my surfboard and admiring the glistening 10-foot waves, when I decided to marry the woman who is now my wife. Sure, this was three years before I got around to popping the question. But that was when I knew.   Why? Because she’d let me go on vacation alone. Hell, she made me go. This is the most important thing a man never told you: If you let us be dumb guys, if you embrace our stupid poker night, if you encourage us to go surfing — by ourselves — our silly little hearts, with their manly warts and all, will embrace you forever for it.   And that’s the truth.   http://men.webmd.com/features/11-dont-tell-the-wife-secrets-all-men-keep March 25, 2008 Bob Ong’s Philosophy on Love http://www.junbernardo.com/index.php/blog-blog/post/11 This is really great. The author actually exist! December 13, 2008 5 languages of LOVE http://www.junbernardo.com/index.php/blog-blog/post/12 Its valentine's again! hmmm...where is the nearest flowershop?! But wait, are the flowers really wanted? There is this neat book called "the five languages of love" by Chapman. Here, the author figured out that there are many ways to express your love...and it is important to first assess what language she can understand.   THE FIVE LANGUAGES Words of AFFIRMATION. You are so pretty tonight. Did you lose weight? You are so, so good. tc to ofc tom. teker bebe. gud am. hi. :-). gn. sd. R u safely home now? I love you. I honestly love you! QUALITY Time. watching a movie together is sadly not included. You want activities that you do together...where you can give her your undivided attention. Text twist. Lunch and dinner dates. Getting lost going to a new place! Badminton. Studying. Billiards. Telephone calls (both quick and telebabad). Shopping. Booze Stop. GIFTS. If you never wished for a gift, you are not normal! hahaha Do it consistently. If you always think of your friend, you will find a uniquely beautiful gift just about anywhere, everyday -- going to the office, walking to school, driving back home. Though an ipod will surely excite her, the smaller things that you give in between the big gifts are collectively more important. Cakes. Chocolates. "Teachers have a lot of class" cards. A belt. Slippers. A wallet. Big mac meal with large fries and iced tea. A small bouquet of flowers. A BIGGER bouquet of flowers. Small pasalubongs from your out-of-town trips. Physical TOUCH. Sorry if she is super sensitive!   :( Scratching her back. Holding her arm when crossing the street. Lightly brushing her hair with your hand. A hug. A peck on the cheek. Making light akbay. Acts of SERVICE. Doing something that permits your labidabs to rest a little...or frees up her time to do other important things. Hatid sundo. Her party invites. Letting her sleep soundly in the car while you traverse a very lonely road. The term paper.  Volunteering to man her tiange booth? Something hard but done with joi. WHAT TO SPEAK? We can speak all five but only to a certain degree. What is natural for you is the easiest to do. BUT, what is natural for her is what you SHOULD do. We adjust because we want to connect. That is love. If after you connect she also realize that you are more comfortable speaking another language...and she adjusts(!)...then good for you! She is also making an effort for you. That is true love. The operational word here is "connecting"! SO, ARE YOU IN LOVE? If you read up to this point, then maybe you are really in love. Your interest to make the relationship become better is very evident. Now, I think I am a fat head. Does that mean I am madly in love? :) Goodluck this week guys. Do something unique. Make the coming date a real activity where you both can connect and communicate in a language that you both understand. Then FAITHFULLY commit. Tell me if this works for you. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Jun   P.S. Thank you Fanny for being a patient counselor!  February 13, 2007 China Air service quality http://www.junbernardo.com/index.php/blog-blog/post/9 I just booked my flight back to Manila today. But am still sort of thinking...if I want to extend my stay here in the US or cut short this wonderful vacation of mine? heheChina Air is really the nicest budget airline that I have recently tried. I had my January 5 return flight changed to an open date. Earlier, I reserved a seat...without getting charged anything. Now compare that to my brother Chi who just paid $50 to change his return date. To think that he was issued only an e-ticket (theres no cost to PAL to reprint anything)...and he has not left the Philippines yet! hahahaAnyway, am looking forward also to the nice China Air stewardesses -- two actually -- who spilled orange juice and water on me in my Manila to Taipei and Taipei to LAX trips. I want beer this time ;-) So, will I now go back or extend?! That is the big question!!!! :) Trivia: Stewardesses is one of the longest words (at 12 letters) that are traditionally typed purely with the left hand on a QWERTY keyboard. It is tied with other 12-letter, left-hand-only words such as desegregated, desegregates, reverberated, and reverberates.
